Terms and Conditions
In Relation Psychology and Psychotherapy Practice
We want your experience with In Relation to feel as smooth and straightforward as possible. These terms set out how we work together so there are no surprises. By booking an appointment, you're confirming you've read and understood them.
Our Services
In Relation offers therapy delivered by clinicians registered with the relevant professional bodies for their discipline. We're a multi-clinician practice, which means we can match you with the clinician best suited to your needs.
Therapy is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, please call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department. For after-hours crisis support, Lifeline on 13 11 14 and the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467 are available around the clock.
Appointments
Sessions are 50 minutes unless we have agreed otherwise. You can book online, by phone, or by email. We'll send you a confirmation once your appointment is booked.
If you are running late, please let us know as soon as you can. If you arrive 20 minutes or more after your scheduled start time without prior notice, this will be treated as a no-show and the full session fee may apply.
Cancellations and No-Shows
We understand that appointments may occasionally need to be changed. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may incur the full session fee.
If unexpected circumstances arise, please contact us as soon as possible so we can take this into account.
Fees and Payment
Your initial session fee is collected at the time of booking through our online booking link. For later sessions, you may pay through the booking link. Receipts are issued electronically.
Medicare and Private Health Insurance
Depending on your clinician, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate or private health insurance rebate. You will be informed what applies when you book.
For Medicare rebates, you'll need a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or psychiatrist. We recommend checking that your referral is current before your appointment.
For private health insurance, rebate amounts and eligibility vary depending on your fund and level of cover. Please check with your insurer beforehand.
Telehealth
We offer telehealth sessions via secure video platforms. The same appointment, payment, cancellation, and confidentiality terms apply.
Please join from a private, secure location using a personal device where possible. If technical difficulties arise on our end, we'll reschedule at no charge. If the issue is on your end, the session fee may still apply.
Confidentiality
Everything you share in therapy is held in confidence. There are a small number of legal and ethical situations where disclosure may be required. These are explained in full in our Privacy Policy. By engaging with our services, you are also agreeing to that policy.
Complaints
If something has not felt right about your experience with us, you are welcome to contact us at hello@inrelationpractice.com.au. We take feedback seriously and will respond with care.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant professional body for your clinician, or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for privacy-related concerns.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continuing to use our services after any changes means you agree to the updated terms.
